Tunnell's Vision
When we think of April we think about the coming of spring; warmer weather, longer days, gardening, playing in the yard and many other beloved activities. Once again though, this April we get to add the celebration of Easter. There is no other celebration or event like the celebration of an empty grave. No other religion in the world, no other belief system can duplicate the claim of a risen reigning redeemer! No matter who tries to deny or discourage the empty grave, they cannot change the fact that it is EMPTY! An empty tomb is everything. One time a Moslem said to a Christian, "We Moslems have one thing you Christians do not have. When we go to Medina (Saudi Arabia), we find a coffin and know that that Mohammed lived because his body is in it. But when, you Christians go to Jerusalem, you find nothing but an empty tomb." "Thank you!" exclaimed the Christian. "What you say is absolutely true, and that makes the eternal difference. The reason we find an empty tomb is because we serve a risen Christ. " A risen Christ is what Easter is about. What does Easter mean to you? It is much more than just a day of new outfits and a family dinner. It is more than just a day when a lot of people come to church. It is much more than just another holiday. Easter is a celebration of many things: Life To every Christian Easter means all these things and much more. It is my prayer that this Easter season we pray, praise and celebrate together the Living Lord and Savior of the World, Jesus Christ! Christ the Lord is risen today, Hallelujah!! Because we’re His, Michael Tunnell
